Welcome to the Prospect Speech and Debate Team 2011-2012!
Prospect Speech and Debate is an extracurricular team at Prospect High School, Saratoga, CA. As a member of the Coast Forensic League, the Prospect Speech and Debate Team participates in numerous local tournaments thoroughout the year. Membership has many benefits to students, including a heightened sense of global awareness and improved critical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills. Speakers and debaters also benefit strongly from S&D participation when applying for colleges and scholarships.
Our adviser is Mr. Randy Melton, whose classroom also serves as the team headquarters. Debaters are coached in Parliamentary and other forms of debate by Santa Clara University Parliamentary Debate Captain and acclaimed debater Thomas Belesiu.
